Beginning from Met Camp in the early hours of the morning, hikers ascend through the rugged Naromoru route, covering alpine terrain, steep gradients, and high-altitude landscapes before pushing toward Austrian Hut and finally Point Lenana.

Commute Day – Nairobi → Mt. Kenya

10:30 AM – Meet-Up in Nairobi CBD
Meet at International House Parking along City Hall Way for registration, gear check, and departure briefing.

11:00 AM – Departure from Nairobi
Begin the scenic drive toward Mount Kenya via Naromoru.

3:00 PM – Arrival at Mt. Kenya Naromoru Gate
Arrive at the park gate for registration and final mountain preparations.

3:30 PM – Transfer to Met Camp
Drive 9km deeper into the park to Met Camp at 3,048m.

6:30 PM – Dinner & Early Rest
Enjoy dinner, settle into camp, and prepare for an early wake-up ahead of summit day.

Summit Day – Met Camp → Point Lenana → Descent

1:00 AM – Wake Up & Breakfast
Begin the day with an early breakfast and final gear preparations.

2:00 AM – Hike Starts
Start the climb from Met Camp under headlamp light, heading toward Mackinders Camp.

Morning – Mackinders Camp Break
Reach Mackinders Camp at approximately 4,300m for a light breakfast and short recovery stop.

Late Morning – Austrian Hut & Summit Push
Continue the steep ascent toward Austrian Hut and finally Point Lenana at 4,895m.

12:30 PM – Latest Summit Cut-Off Time
The final permitted time for reaching Point Lenana is 12:30 PM.

1:15 PM – Mandatory Turn-Back Time
All hikers must begin descending to avoid wildlife encounters and darkness on the trail.

Evening – Return to Met Camp & Departure
Descend back to Met Camp, regroup, freshen up, and depart for Nairobi.

Estimated 7:30 PM – Departure for Nairobi
