Terms & Conditions

Applicable to Group Tours, Hikes, Retreats, Book Club, and Day Events

Luscious Outdoors Africa ("LOA", "we", "us", or "our") offers curated outdoor experiences focused on wellness, nature, and community. Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully as they outline the responsibilities and expectations between you (the participant/client) and LOA.

1. Cancellations by You – Day Events, Overnight Trips & Retreats

All payments made to Luscious Outdoors Africa (LOA) are non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend:

  • You may request a credit transfer to a future LOA event, valid for 12 months from the original event date.

  • Requests for credit transfers must be submitted in writing at least:
    • 72 hours before a day event
    • 2 months before an overnight trip or retreat

  • Only one transfer is allowed per booking. No extensions or additional transfers will be accepted.

  • If the future event has a higher price, the participant is responsible for covering the difference.

2. Replacement Option

You may nominate someone else to attend in your place, at no additional cost, provided that:

  • You notify us in writing

  • Full participant details are submitted at least 48 hours before the event

  • The replacement agrees to all applicable Terms & Conditions

Once transferred, all booking terms apply to the new participant.

3. No-Show & Late Cancellations

If you do not show up for the event or cancel after the transfer deadline:

  • Your booking will be forfeited

  • No refund or credit will be issued

  • Missed portions of any experience (e.g., late arrivals, early departures, or unused services) are non-refundable and non-transferable

We strongly recommend purchasing personal travel insurance to cover emergencies or last-minute cancellations.

4. Cancellations or Changes by LOA

Luscious Outdoors Africa (LOA) reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any event due to:

  • Insufficient participant numbers

  • Force Majeure events (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics)

  • Operational challenges beyond our control

In such cases:

  • You will receive a full refund or event credit, unless funds have already been paid to third-party vendors.

  • If the event is postponed, your credit will remain valid and will not expire. It can be applied to any future LOA experience (note: rate differences may apply).

  • LOA is not liable for any costs incurred in preparation for a canceled or rescheduled event, including but not limited to transport, accommodation, visa fees, gear purchases, or travel insurance.

  • Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 30 days from the date of cancellation notification.

5. Health, Safety & Participation

  • LOA reserves the right to deny or remove any participant whose behavior endangers themselves or others

  • Participants must disclose any relevant medical or psychological conditions

  • LOA is not liable for injury, illness, or death occurring during events, especially in remote or high-risk locations

  • Participants are encouraged to consult relevant travel health advisories before joining any event

6. Age & Participant Responsibility

  • Minimum age to attend is 13 years, unless part of a private or family group

  • Participants are responsible for:
    • Arriving on time
    • Being physically and mentally prepared for the activity
    • Bringing appropriate gear and supplies

7. Photography & Media Consent

By participating in an LOA event, you consent to being photographed or recorded for promotional purposes.

  • If you do not wish to appear in photos or videos, kindly inform the host and avoid group photo settings

8. Conduct & Participant Expectations

All participants are expected to:

  • Respect nature, local communities, and fellow attendees

  • Follow all safety and environmental instructions

  • Cooperate fully with LOA guides and facilitators

  • Refrain from abusive, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior

  • LOA reserves the right to remove anyone violating these expectations without refund

9. Third-Party Providers

LOA works with carefully selected third-party service providers (e.g., transport, lodging, facilitators). However:

  • LOA is not liable for delays, service interruptions, or incidents caused by these providers

  • Services are subject to local laws and the providers’ own terms and conditions

10. Limitations of Liability

LOA is not responsible for any losses, injuries, or delays arising from:

  • Natural disasters

  • Acts of government, strikes, or terrorism

  • Personal negligence, theft, or accidents

  • Inherent risks in outdoor and adventure travel (e.g., wildlife, extreme weather, hiking, camping, water activities)

  • Limited access to medical services in remote locations

11. Complaints & Disputes

  • Immediate concerns should be raised on-site to allow for resolution

  • Written complaints must be submitted within 7 days of the event
